This Saposhnikoviae Radix is long conical or long cylindrical, the lower part gradually thin, some slightly curved, 15 ~ 30cm long, 0.5 ~ 2cm in diameter. Gray-brown surface, rough, there are longitudinal wrinkles, most of the transverse long lenticels and points of fine root. The root head has obvious dense ring, some ring with residual brown hairy leaf base. Body light, loose, easy to break, uneven section, skin light brown, fissures, wood light yellow. Gas specific, slightly sweet taste.
